And so...I wrote...
It's people who you love the most that will hurt you the most. When you least expect it. When you are looking forward to something. When the last thing you want is to be let down. They will hurt you then. They will break your heart. You will go through moments of absolute loneliness. Suddenly it will seem like no one in the world has time for you. If you are lucky, you will find someone to share your feelings with. But the lump in your throat, won't go.
It won't go till the person who hurt you soothes your pain. That's the rule. And that's the rule because no matter how much they hurt you, you love them back. The love doesn't diminish with the hurt. Probably, and according to my experience, once you are over the initial shock, you realise you love them so much more. It wouldn't have hurt if you hadn't loved them. Anyone could have calmed you down if you didn't care. But when the lump doesn't go till the person who hurt you makes it go away, you know there's a special one!
Life is strange. You realise strange things in strange situations. When all you want to do is be angry and indifferent, your heart tells you a different story. When your head tells you that's the last person you want to see, your heart wants a hug from the same person. When you think you will not talk to that person ever, your heart is waiting for that phone call. When you are busy telling yourself 'I don't really care', your heart is craving for that person's attention.
It's when you are most hurt, you realise how much that person means to you...how much you expect from that person...how close that person is to your heart...and how much you love that one individual, who can break your heart and then heal it. Of course, with love.
A lot of people say that people who love you will not hurt you. I disagree. People who love you usually hurt you the most. It is simply because, every little thing they say, and every little thing they do means a lot to you. Because you care. Because you hurt them too. And because you love them, you know you can go back and heal the pain.
You matter more than the sadness. They matter more than the tears. Love matters more than the lump.
